Rare 1940s Pygmalion Glove Clip

Rare 1940s Pygmalion Glove Clip

Extremely collectable and rare original 1940s glove clip in mint condition! From research, this is from the brand Pygmalion. This is a beautiful glove clip designed to be hung from a bag or purse. The 'hands' open up to grasp your gloves - such a clever idea!!  It is gilded over base metal and has been bejeweled with multicoloured glass rhinestones. There is no loss to the gilding, and the rhinetone chatons are all intact.

The Pygmalion name was registered 'for cosmetic boxes' by Salo David Rand in 1942. S. D. Rand Ltd was incorporated in 1949 based Regent Street, London, England. It ceased trading in the mid 1950s, making it a very short-lived company. The company's focus was on designing, importing and selling compacts, rather than manufacturing them. Rand purchased part finished vanities from England and Germany, some of which were manufactured by Kigu , Mascot and A. S. Brown & Co. Ltd.

A stunning example in immaculate vintage order, I just love this!
